EastLink disruptions

Both EastLink tunnels to close for maintenance

Saturday night 16 May (8pm to 7am)

EastLink (including the Melba and Mullum Mullum tunnels) will be closed in both directions between Springvale Rd and Canterbury Rd. Ringwood Bypass will also be closed in both directions between Ringwood St and Maroondah Hwy.

IMPORTANT: The Eastern Freeway will also be closed this weekend for upgrade works.

This means that during this weekend's tunnel closure, citybound traffic will not be able to enter the Eastern Freeway until Bulleen Rd and Burke Rd:

Alternative routes

Outbound traffic on the Eastern Fwy heading to EastLink is advised to exit at Springvale Rd and then use Canterbury Rd to access EastLink. Please note: motorists will not be able to access EastLink from Maroondah Hwy.
Outbound traffic on the Eastern Fwy heading to Ringwood is advised to exit at Springvale Rd and then use Maroondah Hwy.
Inbound/Citybound traffic on EastLink heading to the Eastern Fwy is advised to exit at Canterbury Rd and then use Burke Rd to access the Eastern Fwy (due to this weekend's Eastern Fwy closure).

Scheduled maintenance

This tunnel closure is required for scheduled maintenance works. These works are essential to maintain the high safety standard of EastLink.

The tunnel works have been scheduled for night times to minimise any delay for motorists.
